Both provide thick, long lashes. Both mascaras provide length. Both mascaras can give you an extension-lash like look. But both are not priced the same! One is an excellent Diorshow mascara dupe!
Let’s take a closer look at both, with my full review of Diorshow and a Maybelline Sky High mascara review, to decide which is the better bet for your money to create standout eyelashes.
The Designer Choice
A decades long favorite, Diorshow one of Sephora’s best sellers. It’s excellent for volume and has a super thick mascara wand which goes on very pigmented and fattening up each hair.
The Dioshow is both super silky and a very thick, heavy formula.
The largest con of this mascara is that it can get clumpy. I have found that you really need to use a secondary eyelash comb to get some of the clumps out.
Because of that, I don’t use this as a first coat. If I do use it as a first coat, I start out with heavy eyelashes and not in a good way. It could be because I’m blonde, so it’s really easy to see up against my fair skin. Because of the clumsiness this is not my first mascara pick.
Another big con to the Diorshow is that it flakes off after a few hours. It’s not an all day mascara in my opinion. It’s great for dates, or dinner’s out, when your makeup doesn’t need to last eight to twelve hours. For me, it definitely flakes after around four hours of wear.
However, this mascara is one I like to have in my toolkit for when I’m creating a dramatic evening look, but it’s not my go-to during the day.
The Drugstore Choice: the Diorshow mascara dupet
Maybelline Sky High mascara review
One day I happened to by in CVS when my friend Ashley randomly texted me about this mascara. She said I simply had to try it!
After she sent me a selfie with her eyelashes sky high, almost like she had had a lash lift I picked it up!
It’s awesome and absolutely a Diorshow mascara dupe! To me, the Sky High Maybelline Mascara hands down beats Diorshow.
My Maybelline Sky High mascara review is a full on rave review! This mascara has it all – lengthening, thickening and staying power. Not to mention the price is so much better!
The wand is also a bit slimmer to allow for you to ensure you get each and every hair.
Now, I need to confuse you a bit – as a makeup lover I do own and use both. And sometimes I use both together! I’ll use one coat of Sky High to lengthen, separate and thicken, and then a very light coat of the Diorshow for maximum kapow!
So, tell me. Have you used either of these mascara’s? What’s been your takeaway from using them? Do you have another Diorshow dupe you recommend trying? Please leave a comment so we can all hear it!
