Coastal Home with Traditional Accents

I’ve mentioned this before, but when you walk into someone’s home, I love when it just feels like them. This is the coastal home with traditional accents of a close friend of mine and it was so gorgeous I begged to share photos!

Almost every chair has a cozy blanket which you know I love. Throw blankets are a must for me. I have them everywhere and love having enough for people to grab and cuddle! These are beautiful and soft.

She has always had a very dark toned home. Lots of wood, lots of leather, lots of brown. They live on the water and felt like their home should reflect the calmness of the water. Also, their children are a older now and able to understand to not put markers on the light colored couch so they felt ready for a change.

She created a coastal home with traditional accents by combining her love for wood and a slightly country/traditional feel with the light color palette of ivory and blue. The whole effect is very cozy and warm. All of the furniture is super comfortable too, which completely represents who they are. They are a take your shoes off type of family (though she is a bit paranoid about her brand new furniture, understandably!)
