Christmas Morning PJ’s is family tradition that’s been around since I was a little girl. Each year we would receive from my parents brand new Christmas Jammie’s on Christmas Eve. My Mom always told me it’s so that we looked fresh and cute in our Christmas morning photos. 🙂 She did that all the way until we were grown up – and even as a newlywed I got Christmas Pajamas on Christmas Eve!
I’ve been carrying on that tradition with our family. All three kids get their own jammies and I buy some for myself and my husband. It’s really a fun tradition. No – we don’t always match, but don’t think I haven’t done a color scheme. Ha!
These are photos taken last year by the amazing Sara D Harper for our Christmas card. Usually my husband loves to dress up and totally would have worn his Christmas jammies but I don’t think he realized he would be in the picture. Me, being all extra and loving a camera, basically jumped in with my own Jammie’s. I’m aware of my willingness to put on a show – it’s something I’m working on. Ha!
While these are last year’s jammies, I’ve hunted for some great family Christmas pajamas. For me, I am totally OK buying Jammie’s I’ll only wear for a season. But in case you don’t want seasonal only Jammie’s I’ve found some great options for winter Jammie’s you can invest in and wear all winter long. And my husband isn’t too into the cutely pajamas so I always err on the safe but festive side!
Now for kids pajamas? I have a deep love for Hanna Andersson pajamas (you can see a few posts I’ve done here and here.) They just are so darn cute and hold up so well in the wash. My boys basically only wear Hanna Andersson Christmas pajamas and they already have a few pairs fro this year they have been wearing!
So what’s your Christmas pajama style? Matchy-matchy? Kids only? Or fun and festive? I love this season so much you guys!
