Once again…welcome to my house. Come freely. Go safely; and leave something of the happiness you bring.”
― Bram Stoker, Dracula

Our foyer is so happy and full of light. While a lot of homes begin with a darker look, ours welcomes you with a clean and bright space that feels like a breath of fresh air.
The door is flanked by matching chests made by Hickory White each with gigantic smoked mirrors. There are turquoise lamps on each side (to hint at the tones you’ll see throughout the rest of the home) and little styled vignettes that are both very clean, organized but have a little bit of personality.

While the rest of our home is filled with family photos, I chose to keep the family photos simple at the entry. I like to pick and choose the places to show more intimate photos.
A piece of art hangs on the wall opposite a sitting bench and sweet garden stool (again, the turquoise/mint blue color used in the rest of the home.) I found this piece of art and fell in love. It didn’t cost a lot despite it’s size. But I don’t care how much it cost. This painting makes me smile each time I look at it. I see a woman sitting and looking down on our family with a smile showing motherly loving security. Cheesy, yes. But it’s what I see.
